Friendly Match Yields Fruits As United Aim For The Top spot
by Jimmie Kairu

Thika United beat Top-life F.C of Nanyuki one nil in a friendly Match at Nanyuki stadium over the weekend.

A late goal from Edwin Kosgey during the 86th minute was enough to win the optimistic friendly and keep alive the hopes of the two critical games ahead against Agro – Chemical and Tusker F.C.

The game had a quit high start and the midfield plus the defense were coordinating well according to the coach the pace that united set on that game was extra ordinary showing great capacity of growth and immense interaction of the players polishing all the sides of what they have been longing for.

Coach Abdalla Juma made extreme changes in the second half bringing in David Okello to replace Lucas Owira and also changed Joseph Mwangi and Paul Anunda who missed dozens of opportunities which could have raised the margin.

The tactic worked as United took the lead in the 86th minute leading Kosgey to terrorize the entire defense and yielding fruit.

Top life on the other hand did not have much to offer but made their series of plays that were all fruitless.

Coach Juma was happy with the whole game and said that he was confident with his team more so with the new system of play which the team has adapted to and has played so well with it. Making it shine as it looks forward to playing against the Under 20 national team on the 1st of July at Kasarani Stadium.

“This will be a good game for our side and will also develop our skill much better” he said. The most anticipated friendly match will be a great task to Stephen Kiaritha and Francis Chege the young stars called up to play for the under 20 team.

“We are ready and set for the league and with no reasonable doubt we have hopes for taking this league watch us” said an enthusiastic Juma.

The fitness of the United players was on point said the team doctor and Vincent Mugaka is expected soon as he nurses an injury while in training otherwise Muyoti is back on track for he played an excellent 90 minutes.
