Thika United Teach Gor Mahia A Lesson At Home

By Jimmie Kairu

Tension filled the air minutes before the highly anticipated game started yesterday against Gor Mahia and security forces were forced to ensure that everybody was in the stands.

The Gor Mahia fans arrived as early as 3:00pm and took the visitors stand creating their own territory which led to drama when the united fans wanted to sit there.

The home fans started streaming in, in hundreds and the stadiums was jam packed and full to capacity and that demoralized the visitors for the home side kept calm and let the vocal Gor talk.

Then when the game kicked off tension was sensed in the Gor Mahia fan side, as their faces were full of unbelief of the high standard of football displayed in a much comfortable manner with no strain.

What drove the point home was the header which was nearly banked in by Joseph Mwangi and the long shot from Michael Ndungu which were both caught by Jacktone Odhiambo.

During half time the Gor Mahia fans had already marked their territory combating themselves ready to put their frustrations into gear.

One of their fans was caught live on camera hitting a young boy and this most definitely displayed their ill intensions, another was caught saying “we can make this game not to continue we beat you up and we all go home” but his remarks was responded with a lot of resentment leading to security forces to report there and calm the situation down.

The second half was thoroughly anticipated and Thika United players did not disappoint their fans for the shot by Stephen Ocholla and Chrispine Olando was what they all needed.

The crowed dispersed when the fourth official raised the board to show that it was only two minutes of extra time left leaving no room to exchange words with the Gor fans.

Coach Abdalla Juma was a happy man and he thanked his boys for delivering just what he needed and that is what he termed as hard work and a positive approach.

The visitors were dismayed by the goals and did not leave the pitch until everyone else had evacuated, but that did not stop the fans from chanting “its not witchcraft its practice combined with milk”. “Brookside Milk” they added. …….ENDS……
