such as:- punching bags, punching glove, ring boots, pads, uniform,
speed ball, head gear, (kits) as most of the membership are young

BOXING
Armed forces amaterur Boxing Association (AFABA) from Kahawa
Garrison were yesterday thrashed 12-8 points by the Debutant
Thika

Thika town.
The tournament saw Thika United Boxers whose team was formed four
months ago put up a superb performance against AFABA who are old in
the game.
United Steven Kamau beat Robert Mwitu of Kahawa 2-1 in the Fly
weight Bout to open the winning streak in the 11bouts tourney. The
most tantalizing contest was that of Georgina Wambere (Lady)against
Kahawa’s Anthony Kariuki.
The special bout earned wild cheers from fans who jammed the hall
as Wambere (19) destroyed her opponent with superb jabs to win on
points 2-1. Another bout that set the packed hall ablaze was the
heavy weight contest between James Wainaina(Thika) and Daniel
Odhiambo (Kahawa). Wainaina unleashed deadly punches that almost
sent his opponent to the ground.
The much awaited contest between ladies in the fly and
featherweight categories did not take off because the young boxers
had no gum shield. Folzia Wamaitha would have tussled with Carolyn
Wamaitha (flyweight) while Regina Nyakeo Vs Felista Mumbi and Jane
Wambui Vs Sarah Waitherero would have contested in featherweight.

months yed the boys ahowed profuse talent. United captain Jasan
Mwaura sais with adequate training they were rearing to go. The club
