With two straight wins away Thika United could not hold their disappointment as they drew nil – nil with Tusker FC at the Moi International Sports Centre Kasarani Stadium over the weekend.


The draw came through after dozens of missed opportunities and a good start for United whose mission was to ensure that they frustrate the Hosts before their fans.


This was evident when the Visitors side attacked the host’s camp giving them a run for their title as CECAFA cup winners and defending champions of the league.


Though their disappointment was partial they still held strong to their fourth position one point ahead of Agro Chemical and nine points behind Mathare United who are currently in the first position.


With a promising first half, Stephen Kiaritha missed a great header during the fifth minute after a cross ball from Michael Luvutsi. The young star nearly succumbed to a knee injury caused by Joseph Ruto during the 39th minute when his run beat two defenders and Ruto committed himself early and through his frustration he took him down but the ball was already in the net but the lines man termed it as off side.


During the eleventh minute a counter attack would have changed course for the visitor’s side when Captain Ivan Maimba passed the ball to Joseph Mwangi whose shot was caught by Ruto.
David Okello the host’s goalkeeper had a long day for the hosts strikers ensured that he was on toes giving him no space to breath.


Through him the team was saved from any goals for his quick reaction and ability to control his team mates was what motivated him to perform.


Though both teams played well utilizing all there mid fielders as well as the strikers, United had a lot of ball possession and beautiful plays, and the fans could not be held back from their great anticipation or more so the outstanding achievement.

The play from the two substituted strikers whom they thought should have been in the first line-up electrified them but to Mr. Juma that was his strategy and he was happy man for the win.

From the players faces they showed readiness to face Mahakama FC this coming weekend and scoop three points in order to keep their efforts towards the league title.
